2022 Emmy winners and nominations


In order to accommodate the first week of the NFL season, the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Monday evening instead of Sunday night, as is customary. The show is being televised live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with Keenan Thompson of “Saturday Night Live” presiding as host.

“Succession” entered the night with the most nominations of any show with a total of 25, vying in key categories such as best drama series and getting numerous nominations for outstanding lead and supporting actor and actress.

“Ted Lasso” received 20 nominations, including for best comedy, while “The White Lotus” was the most nominated limited series with 20 nominations.

Quinta Brunson, the creator, writer, and star of “Abbott Elementary,” became the first Black woman to be nominated for three awards in the same year in the comedy category. She is competing in the comedy categories for excellent writing, acting, and series.
