11 persons condemned to death by hanging in Niger state

After being charged before a high court for killing seven individuals in Niger state, 11 persons were condemned to death by hanging.
The prisoners, all from the Anfani village in Lavun council, were convicted guilty in December 2018 of murdering their victims in the Gaba community of the state over a land dispute.
Justice Maimuna Talatu Abubakar, who handed down the punishment, stated that they were found guilty of culpable homicide, which is punished by death under Section 221 of the penal code.
While 11 people were found guilty of the offence, 15 others linked to the case were discharged and acquitted.The
