11 people rescued by good samaritans when their boat capsized at Beer Can Island, Florida

When their boat capsized at Beer Can Island, Florida, eleven individuals were left stranded.

WISTV10 reported that good Samaritans aboard a nearby boat were able to respond swiftly to the occurrence, which occurred after 5 p.m. on June 14, and rescued the men, women, and children from the ocean.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, their aviation team responded quickly after the call for assistance to find numerous people swimming around a flipped boat and another vessel lifting the victims onto.

The cause of the boat’s capsize is unknown.

When the HCSO Marine Unit arrived, only two men were left hanging on the side of the capsized boat.

A good Samaritan threw a life vest to one of the men who didn’t have one.

HSCO Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press release that ‘Almost all the victims were wearing life preservers’.

As the officers assisted him onboard, one man pleaded, ‘Bring me up, bring me up.’

The officers were reassured by the final man to be rescued, who stated that no one else was still in the water.

One of the men complained of chest trouble and shortness of breath while being rescued.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Marine Unit was dispatched by the rescue unit to transport him to a local hospital right away.

His condition is unknown at this time.

The other victims were brought to the Apollo Beach Marina in the meantime.
