Zelensky: Putin should face war crimes accusations before ‘hell’

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, urged Vladimir Putin to submit to a “fair” and “independent” trial for the crimes he has perpetrated against Ukraine before he “goes to hell,” according to David Muir of ABC.

After visiting the mass cemetery in Bucha, Muir speaks with the foreign leader and asks Zelensky what “justice” might entail for those accountable for the catastrophe.

The ABC host remarked, “You didn’t hide your rage, your contempt when you were there.”

The head of the country still under Russian assassination remarked, “As any civilised person, any civilised man, I think that those responsible should not only go to hell, no, they should have fair trials.”

Zelensky responded to Muir’s inquiry concerning the intelligence he had received regarding Russia’s desire to assassinate him by saying that not much has changed since then.

Your life is still obviously in risk, Muir declared. ‘What is your intelligence telling you? Does Russia wish for your demise?

Zelensky stoically retorted to Muir, “The information is as it used to be.”

Although numerous, occasionally shifting groups are actively seeking to take his life, the ‘objective,’ he claimed, remains the same.

Zelensky claims that the enormous Zaporizhzhia nuclear reactor has been used as a weapon by the Russian military at another point in the conversation with the ABC ‘World News Tonight’ host.

‘You see, they occupied our nuclear station, six blocks. largest in all of Europe. It is the greatest threat to Europe and represents six Chernobyls. they took possession of it. Therefore, it implies that they utilise nuclear weapons. That is [a] nuclear weapon,’ added Zelensky.

Although there are still Ukrainian employees managing the nuclear complex, Russian military are currently occupying it.

As the Russian and Ukrainian military continue to fight without making much headway, the nuclear plant in the southeast of the war-torn nation has seen an increase in shelling attacks in recent weeks.

Due to the possibility of a catastrophic nuclear event should things become much more out of hand than they already are, the international community has started to express alarm about the nuclear site as a potential battleground.

On Monday, the Ukrainian government warned people of Crimea, which Russia has occupied, to be ready for battle, stock up on essential supplies, and have their bomb shelters ready as soldiers in Kyiv get ready to launch a significant counteroffensive against Russian aggression.

Since several weeks ago, Ukraine has been urging residents in its occupied southern region to get ready and leave before launching a counteroffensive. However, Monday’s warning was unusual since it was directed at people living in Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, as opposed to places that Russia invaded this year and took control of.

Thought to be typically out of Ukrainian missile range, a few recent explosions at nearby Russian military installations have brought that into question.
