Zach Wilson will start after Jets doctors bench Mike White

Zach Wilson is once again the Jets’ starting quarterback.

Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that the Jets’ medical staff would not approve Mike White to play in Sunday’s pivotal game against the Lions.

Sunday’s loss to the Bills left White with rib problems. On two occasions, he was forced to quit the game after receiving multiple brutal blows.

The Jets will start Zach Wilson this week after doctors reportedly refused to clear Mike White to play.

Wilson was elevated from third string to backup earlier this week after being sidelined for the previous three games. Presumably, Joe Flacco will now serve as Wilson’s backup.
