Zach Wilson has finally spoken out amid allegations by his ex, Abbey Gile

Zach Wilson, a star for the New York Jets, has finally spoken out after his ex-girlfriend said he had sex with his mother’s best friend.

The NFL athlete appeared to be making fun of the issue on Instagram on Wednesday by posing the question, “What I miss?” to his followers.

Wilson, 22, also blamed the ‘poor cell service’ at the opulent Idaho golf club he and his other teammates visited this past week for his social media hiatus.

Abbey Gile, the football star’s ex, called him out for “sleeping with his mom’s best friend” after hearing rumours that she was dating Washington Commanders wide receiver Dax Milne, Wilson’s roommate and best best friend from college.

Wilson, a self-described Mormon and former Brigham Young University student, has not publicly responded to Gile’s charges.

He also failed to comment on the situation, and his mother Lisa Neeleman Wilson, the billionaire sister of JetBlue founder David Neeleman, did not answer DailyMail.com’s earlier demands for comment.

Neeleman Wilson, 48, did, however, upload a protracted video to her own Instagram account in which she called social media “satanic.”

According to a Wednesday social media post by Wilson, he and his teammates recently visited Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club in Harrison, Idaho.

‘Took the boys to @gozzerranchclub in Idaho before camp! Poor cell service…what I miss?’ he captioned a collection of images seemingly detailing his recent activities.

The group was pictured playing water sports, enjoying nature, sitting around a fire pit and, of course, tossing the pigskin around.

Jets quarterback Joe Flacco, tight ends Trevon Wesco and CJ Uzomah, and wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Jeff Smith II, Braxton Berrios and Elijah Moore were tagged in the post.

It is unclear how long the group was at the resort and if any other players were in attendance.

While Wilson didn’t specifically address the scandal, his post seemingly poked fun at it – and so did his friends.

‘Quality caption,’ wrote Blake Barnett, former quarterback for the South Florida Bulls.

‘This is amazing,’ echoed Jets safety Will Parks.

‘My brother, My friend, my GOAT,’ penned former BYU tight end Isaac Rex.

WIlson’s current teammates also weighed in with Uzomah saying: ‘MY DAWG!!’

‘Yeah Z!!!’ said Smith, who also posted a goat emoji.

Wesco added: ‘Sick offffff itttttt.’

‘That’s my QB!’ wrote Braxton Berrios.

The crying with laughter emoji was used as a response by quarterbacks Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh Steelers), Trey Lance (San Francisco 49ers), and Jarrett Stidham (Las Vegas Raiders).

Pat Freiermuth, a tight end for Pittsburgh, also shared the same emoji.

Wilson and Gile, both 22, reportedly broke up in January after dating since high school.

Drama involving the ex-couple began over the weekend after Wilson’s best friend and former college roommate Dax Milne shared a photo of himself cradling Gile on social media.

“Word on the Street,” was Milne’s caption for the picture.

One commenter accused Gile of being a “homie hopper,” a word for someone who dumps one person and starts dating their best friend right away.

She retaliated, however, by accusing Wilson of being the “real homie hopper” by having sex with his mother’s friend, calling him out on the scandalous accusation.

Another person in took to the comments to Back Gile up, writing: ‘Lol, it’s true. I know the best friend’s mom and she freaked out about it for a while.’

Many noted the irony of the accusations against Wilson’s past as a player on the BYU football team with the name Cougars.

Jets assistant equipment manager Joe McMahon even jumped in with a shot at Milne, saying: ‘Idk what’s going to be the bigger joke this relationship or your NFL career.’

While it remains unclear if Gile’s accusation against Wilson has any validity, many speculate the NFL star may be in a new relationship.

He was spotted in June with TikTok influencer Nicollette Dellanno watching the Yankees play the Tampa Bay Rays in The Bronx.

Dellanno boasts more than 250,000 followers on TikTok. The rumors about Wilson and Dellanno began when they were pictured on Sophia Culpo’s Instagram page.

Culpo is in a relationship with Wilson’s teammate Braxton Berrios.

Wilson’s mother, Neeleman Wilson, has slammed social media as being ‘satanic’ in a post seemingly responding to Gile’s accusations.

‘Satan has found a way to come right into your home and steal your child, without you even noticing,’ she said in the video, ‘The worst part? You let in and you even paid him to do it.’

Although she did not specifically comment on the accusations, the 48-year-old mom said: ‘I truly believe God laid this challenge before me so I could help some of you guys.

‘And I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about not sharing it because it’s embarrassing and it’s something that it seems nobody else has had a problem with.’

The mom blamed social media for allowing evil to sneak into her children’s lives and encouraged other parents to address their kids’ online activity.

‘Believe me, I know life is much easier to just look the other way and pretend that you raised them so damn good, you have nothing to worry about,’ she said.

‘But unfortunately, Satan is smarter than you are. Who’s going to take back the power of your title? You are the parent. You make the rules. Children want to be controlled. They want structure.

‘It’s like swaddling them and holding them tight. It makes them feel loved. It makes them feel like you care. If you don’t control them…. They will find someone who will.’

This isn’t the first time that Wilson’s mother has made her way into headlines.

In the past few years, she has posted on rants Instagram against mask mandates, promoted Hydroxychloroquine as a Covid-19 cure and supported ex-President Donald Trump.

Neeleman Wilson said in one video in May 2021: ‘Snapchat is for w****s.’ On the platform, she follows popular MAGA celebrities such as Candace Owens and Madison Cawthorn.

In July 2021, she was forced to deny rumors that she had an OnlyFans account saying: ‘I don’t have an OnlyFans account and I have no idea what it is. So if my name is one one it’s fake. Some people need to get a life.’

The identity of Wilson’s alleged lover remains unknown, but in a 2020 Instagram post his mother wrote that her ‘best friends range in age from 16-75,’ alongside a photo of her with a large group of women she dubbed her ‘tribe.’

Wilson grew up in Draper, Utah, as one of his parents six children. His father, Mike, played college ball for the University of Utah in the 1990s.

In the Deseret News feature, Wilson said that his level-headedness and business sense came from his family, including his mother’s JetBlue founding brother.

In the same article, Neeleman Wilson told the newspaper that her son is a ‘home kid.’ She said that her son loved to spend as much time at home as possible.

She is described in the article as a personal trainer with a burgeoning clothing line in the works.

In the video she posted on the day of the allegations against her son, Neeleman Wilson spoke about an ordeal she and her family went through when she discovered that her teenage daughter was chatting online with an unsavory individual. She said ‘kids make mistakes’ at one point in the video.

Wilson suffered through a poor debut season for the Jets with just three wins in 13 appearances, throwing for only nine touchdowns in the process. His four year contract is worth $35 million.

In June, Wilson told the New York Post: ‘I really do have a lot of confidence in myself. Obviously I think I can be one of the best, and I think if anybody doesn’t say that then they’re not a true competitor.’

In their reporting on Wilson’s alleged philandering, Outkick wrote: ‘And just like that the legend of ‘Broadway Zach’ is born,’ a reference to the Jets most famous philanderer ‘Broadway Joe’ Namath.

The exact reasons for Wilson and Gile’s split in January was not made public by either party. The pair did scrub each other from their respective social media accounts.

In fact, Gile’s Instagram account has actually been deleted altogether in wake of the scandal.

The pair seemed to had a relatively positive relationship with Gile telling the New York Post last year: ‘He’s the most selfless, kind, hardworking person I know. I’m the luckiest girl in the world and I have no idea what I did to deserve him.’

Wilson characterized himself as ‘A Mormon, an LDS Church member, for sure’ in a 2021 interview with Deseret News, saying ‘I consider myself a really spiritual person,’ and ‘I feel like I have always had a good relationship with God in my life.’

He added that attending the BYU, which is supported by the Mormons, “helped me strengthen my relationship with God.”

Gile is a dancer in the school’s dance group and a current student at Utah Valley University in Orem.

Although not an LDS-sponsored institution, the university boasts ‘the largest LDS Institute programme in the world,’ according to its website, and provides a comprehensive Mormon studies curriculum.
