YouTube star Logan Paul signs with the WWE

Logan Paul, a YouTube star, has signed with WWE after days of speculation.

According to ESPN, the agreement was announced on Thursday and covers multiple events in 2022 and 2023. Paul’s salary has not been disclosed.

Paul made the announcement on Twitter, sharing a photo of himself signing the contract with former wrestler and WWE executive Triple-H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon.

McMahon recently took over the company after her father, CEO Vince, was investigated by the board of directors for an alleged affair with an employee.

The social media whiz-turned-aspiring boxer previously competed in WrestleMania 38 in April 2021, winning a tag-team match with The Miz against The Mysterios.

Paul, despite being a wrestling novice, performed some impressive aerial theatrics in the match, even jumping from the top rope on one manoeuvre.

Following the event, the 27-year-old Cleveland native claimed he had barely trained for it.

‘No, bro, I trained for two days, for two hours each day,’ Paul told podcaster Ariel Helwani. ‘I swear to God. I didn’t train at all, bro. That’s why I’m like, holy s***, if I did that with four hours of collective training, imagine I dedicate some real time to this. What can I do?

‘I’m good at this wrestling thing. I feel like it comes really naturally to me. Imagine if I practiced, properly practiced? I showed a fraction of what I can do.’

Paul told Helwani that the reaction to his appearance was very positive.

‘Even just the response and feedback online I got after the match, haters or lovers, not one negative comment,’ he said. ‘I think people were surprised by my performance, and I’m so grateful that they liked it. I’m happy that I made them happy and I was able to entertain on a stage that big.’

Another YouTuber, Paul’s brother Jake, has taken up boxing and has a fight scheduled with Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy, on August 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
