Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the police commissioner of Limpopo, has ordered a well-coordinated manhunt for the suspect(s) who reportedly executed a guy in front of his gate in Ntwane Maswikaneng hamlet inside the Dennilton policing district.
The murder of the 34-year-old man occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the morning hours.
MAN SHOT EXECUTION-STYLE OUTSIDE HIS GATE
The spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, stated that the victim arrived home in a vehicle shortly after midnight and was allegedly shot point blank in front of his home gate.
Mojapelo stated that patrolling officers reacted to a gunshot incident report. When they arrived to the site, they saw the man lying in a pool of blood inside his Toyota Avanza.
“A preliminary investigation conducted at the scene revealed that the perpetrators fired multiple shots at point-blank range,” he said.
The provincial commissioner stated that the murderers must be pursued until they are apprehended and brought to justice.
“This crime has sent shivers through the local community, and I want to tell everyone that the police are doing everything possible to track down the murderers. Similar to the incident in Mokopane in which two persons were shot at point-blank range and killed while seated in a vehicle, the suspects were eventually apprehended. Even in this instance, the attackers will be arrested,” stated Hadebe.
Additionally, a mother from Limpopo was detained for allegedly murdering her newborn child in a public restroom.
Police stated that further investigations will identify the incident’s purpose.
