Six youngsters were hurt in a horrific collision involving a car and a truck.

Several individuals were stuck in their vehicles following the Wednesday morning tragedy in Wongamine, Western Australia, which prompted a massive rescue operation.

Two rescue helicopters were dispatched to the incident, which occurred on the Goomalling-Toodyay Road around 100 kilometers northeast of Perth at approximately 6:15 a.m. local time.

St. John Ambulance reported that four of the youngsters were transported to Perth Children’s Hospital by helicopter and two by car.

Other emergency services, including at least five ambulances and six fire vehicles, also responded to the accident scene.

A spokesperson at St. John told the news website Perth Now that the organization was treating “several persons with critical injuries.”

Dozens of firefighters labored to extricate individuals stuck in cars.

St. John Ambulance said that the truck driver was not wounded in the collision, but the vehicle driver’s injuries have not been confirmed.

Paramedics, police, and volunteer firemen are still present at the scene.

The Major Crash police squad is conducting an investigation.

There are road closures in the vicinity, and Main Roads WA is recommending everyone to drive with “extra caution” when driving through the area around Irish Town Road.
