Woman on TikTok didn’t know she was pregnant for six and half month

A woman on TikTok shared a story about how she had no idea she was pregnant for six and a half months. Going by the username @myleyjay on the app, she posted a video that has gone viral with over 899,000 views.

She admitted that she was getting birth control shots every three months and didn’t think she could get pregnant. However, her periods started getting spaced out and eventually stopped completely, which she thought was normal for the birth control.

Myley believed that birth control was “fool proof” and chalked up the weight gain to a recent recovery from an eating disorder. But she began experiencing severe symptoms like low iron and leg cramps that led her to ask her mother to take her to the doctor.

Her mom told her those symptoms were the same ones that she had when she was pregnant and asked her daughter to take a pregnancy test, which came back positive. When she went to the doctor for an ultrasound, it revealed that she was 28 weeks along.

Myley explained that she never really felt any kicks and didn’t have a period as she was on a birth control shot. In a follow-up video, she claimed that the clinic where she was getting the birth control shots did not give her a pregnancy test before the injection.

She also said she didn’t feel kicks and was only sick once in her first trimester. Many users in the comments section shared similar stories, with some only discovering their pregnancies after giving birth.

The birth control shot is 99.8% effective at preventing pregnancy, according to WebMD, but it’s important to make sure you’re getting your shots every three months.

Thankfully, Myley gave birth to a healthy baby and now has three children with her husband Tre. They make videos and content about their family online.
