Witnesses say a “pitbull” attacked a child and a pizza delivery guy in a neighbourhood where “kids play.”

Before being fatally shot by police, a vicious pitbull attacked a teenage girl and a pizza delivery man on a popular neighbourhood where “kids often play,” according to neighbours.

The dog bit the child on the arm and leg as she stooped down to touch it, according to residents of Morley Street in Rochdale, where the vicious dog had been roaming free for hours on Friday night.

It is said that after biting a pizza delivery man as he stepped out of his vehicle, it then spent 45 minutes hiding under a trailer on the street.

Police, who arrived on the scene at 9.30 pm after the assault started at approximately 7 pm, shot the dog dead on the porch of a terraced home 20 yards from the attacks.

No one was badly hurt by the dog, according to the police.

According to a neighbour, the assaults might have been lot worse since Morley Street is quite congested and everyone sits outside at night while the kids play outdoors.

They also said the cops handled the situation quite professionally by allowing the dog some time to settle down and requesting that everyone remain inside.

It began to move toward a female police officer, who tasered it, according to a neighbour. When the dog began to flee, they immediately shot it.

I’ve never seen anything like that, nor have I ever witnessed a gun being shot. It made me feel bad.

The girl’s blood from the dog bite, the neighbour said, caused her to drop her phone.

Another eyewitness said, “It was nasty and violent.” About 20 police officers were there. The route was closed up by them.

I first believed that they had shot him with a Taser. I then heard a second shot. It sprinted along the street in an effort to enter every residence.

He had a limp. He was then killed outside on the threshold.

“It was quite noisy.” About 30 minutes later, the gunpowder scent was still present.

I found my kid upstairs. She was so terrified that she couldn’t stop weeping.

In a statement released on Saturday, Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were contacted to complaints of a dog on the free on Morley Street, Rochdale, at around 9.30 yesterday night (Friday, August 6).

“Officers arrived and discovered that the dog, which was behaving aggressively, had bitten two members of the public.

Unfortunately, given the circumstances of the occurrence and the amount of persons there as well as the injuries sustained, the dog had to be mercifully put to death.

There are continuing inquiries. There were no significant injuries recorded.

The event took place in the same town where a three-year-old kid was recently killed by a dog after being attacked by it.

Less than four miles from this event, on May 15, this year, Daniel Twigg was mauled by a dog while playing outside a home in Milnrow.
