An auburn-haired choirboy seen singing his heart out in Westminster Abbey during the Queen’s state burial has been lauded by social media users.
Throughout the service honoring the life of Queen Elizabeth II, the Westminster Abbey Choir sang hymns, psalms, and the national anthem.
As the casket of the Queen was carried into the 753-year-old abbey in central London, the youthful choristers sung verses from Revelation 14:13 known as The Sentences, which have been recited at every state funeral since the early 18th century.
And while many applauded the choir’s performance throughout the entire ceremony, social media users were especially thrilled with one member.
During the Psalm 42: 1-7 portion of the ceremony, the choirboy could be seen singing his heart out and dancing expressively as choral music filled the abbey.
One social media user stated, “The tiny red-headed choirboy’s sincerity has won my heart.”

The famed Westminster Abbey Choir consists of up to thirty boys and twelve adults.
Others praised the chorister’s ‘theatrical performance,’ describing him as a’superstar’.
The Choir of Westminster Abbey consists of up to thirty boys and twelve professional adult singers known as Lay Vicars and is recognized internationally.
The Choir of Her Majesty’s Chapel Royal, who also participated in the ceremony, dates back to the fifteenth century.
During the historic ceremony, the Choir of Westminster Abbey sang several important songs, including The Lord Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want, which was sung at the Queen’s 1947 wedding to the Duke of Edinburgh.
In 1952, the same hymn was sung during the funeral of the Queen’s father, George VI, with slightly altered lyrics.
Today, Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest alongside her late husband, Prince Philip, in St George’s Chapel in Windsor. Her burial was held at Westminster Abbey.
This morning, social media users were eager to applaud the brilliant child.
Members of the royal family and foreign leaders were among the 2,000 people who attended today’s event as the nation mourned the passing of the monarch prior to a burial service at Windsor Castle.
Buckingham Palace released an official image for the funeral that detailed the readings, hymns, and music that will be performed.
The abbey tweeted, “Much of the music for today’s State Funeral was chosen for its special significance to HM Queen Elizabeth II, and many of the selections also have a historic history with Westminster Abbey.”
The service was led by The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle MBE, Dean of Westminster, and sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey and the Choir of the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace (Joseph McHardy, Director of Music), under the direction of James O’Donnell, Organist and Master of Choristers, Westminster Abbey.
Julian Sandford served as trumpet major of the State Trumpeters of the Household Cavalry. Lieutenant Colonel David Barringer MBE, Commanding Officer, Household Division Bands, directed the Fanfare Team of the Household Division Bands. Peter Holder, Sub-Organist, Westminster Abbey, played the organ.
Buckingham Palace announced the whole Order of Service for the funeral of Her Majesty the Queen.
Hundreds of thousands of well-wishers gathered on London during the historic day of grief to witness the unfolding of the processions.
The Queen’s casket, which hundreds of mourners had passed and wept over over the past week, was taken in procession to Westminster Abbey at 10:44 a.m. before to the start of the State Funeral at 11 a.m.
Three hymns, two anthems, and newly commissioned works were performed on the Abbey’s organ during today’s 11 a.m. service.
The Queen has been lying in state in Westminster Hall, with separate vigils held by her children and grandchildren on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
The coffin was then brought by the State Gun Carriage, which has been in the custody of the Royal Navy since Queen Victoria’s funeral in 1901, when it was taken out of service.
Since 1910, the carriage has been used for the funerals of King Edward VII, King George V, King George VI, Sir Winston Churchill, and Lord Mountbatten.
Approximately 2,000 individuals, including world leaders and previous British prime ministers, attended the funeral, which began at 11 a.m. after a procession from Westminster Hall.
