West London man in his 80s killed while riding a mobility scooter. Murder investigation begins

This afternoon, an elderly on a mobility scooter was viciously stabbed in west London, prompting a massive police search for the assailant.

A massive cordon is still in place near Runnymede Gardens in Greenford, where a man thought to be in his eighties was slain today in broad daylight.

Just after 4 p.m. today, the Met Police were notified of a guy with stab wounds.

The ambulance and air ambulance hurried to the location where an old man was discovered, however he was declared dead at the spot despite the efforts of the paramedics.

The murderer remains at free, and police are requesting dash cam or cycling helmet video from anybody in the vicinity.

The police are attempting to notify his next of kin.Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, Ealing's policing lead, stated: 'This is a terrible incident that will understandably cause widespread concern'

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Specialist Crime Command said, ‘My colleagues are trying to determine what happened to this man, and we need the public’s help.

“I’m requesting that anybody with dash cam or bike helmet video contact us if they were on the Western Avenue A40 Eastbound between 15:15 and 16:15 between Cayton Road and Welland Gardens. The elderly victim, who was on a mobility scooter at the time, was in the vicinity. If you observed the victim or anybody behaving suspiciously in the neighborhood, you must make contact immediately.’

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, the head of police in Ealing, said, ‘This is a terrible occurrence that will obviously generate widespread concern across London.’ Our hearts go out to the elderly sufferer.

“We are assisting our colleagues in Specialized Act as they attempt to determine what transpired and who is responsible for this heinous crime.”

“The public’s backing is vital. Police and the community must collaborate to detect and remove violent criminals from our streets.

My policemen will stay at the site. They are there to assist and protect you; if you have information you want to contribute, please approach them and disclose it.’ A crime scene has been established, and urgent inquiries are proceeding to determine what transpired.
