Washington state’s enormous wildfires cause more than sixty car crashes amid severe fog

At least one fatality has been verified after 60 vehicles were involved in a crash in Oregon caused by dense fog produced by major wildfires in neighboring Washington.

This morning’s accident in Willamette Valley was precipitated by dense fog induced by smoke from raging wildfires trapping surface moisture.

In recent years, dozens of wildfires have ravaged Western U.S. states, as climate change exacerbates drought patterns.

This, in turn, has caused trees and other vegetation to become tinder-dry, creating perilous circumstances for the growth of wildfires as a result of high temperatures and strong winds.
