Warner Music Announces New Channels and Original Programming for Roku

Warner Music Group stated that WMX, their artist services and creative content subsidiary, will release three free and ad-supported television (FAST) channels on the Roku Channel, as first reported by Variety through PR Newswire. These free streaming channels are WMX Pop, WMX Rock, and WMX Hip-Hop, and you can access them via the Live TV Guide on the Roku channel.

In addition to music videos and performances from Warner Music, these channels will also include new original shows. Classic Records: Life After Death, presented by radio personality Angie Martinez, will focus on iconic music albums such as “Life After Death” by the late Notorious B.I.G. In addition, additional Warner Music Group brands will offer original content on the FAST Channels, including UPROXX, whose programs People’s Party With Talib Kweli and Just Blaze and Katty Custom’s Fresh Pair will be streamable.

Ben Blank, president of WMX’s media and content division, commented on the new channels, “We’re thrilled to work with The Roku Channel to offer our extensive music video archive and unique programming to every screen. The FAST channel area is rapidly increasing, and this change enables us to reach music enthusiasts worldwide. The Roku Channel has been a fantastic partner, and as the industry leader in FAST, their ecosystem is ideal for launching our channels.”
