Video ofa shiver of sharks feeding about 15 miles off the coast goes viral

A group of fishermen in search of yellowfin tuna near Venice, Louisiana, were shocked to discover a shiver of sharks feeding about 15 miles off the coast.

Dillon May, who was on a friend’s fishing boat with his girlfriend, recorded a video of the wild scene and shared it on the social media video service Storyful.

Initially, the group thought they had stumbled upon a “tuna boil,” but soon realized it was hungry sharks feasting on a bait pod.

As the sharks pushed the pod up against the boat to feast on them, they splashed water into the boat, soaking the passengers.

The video of the feeding frenzy has since gone viral, prompting hundreds of comments online.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries, sharks can go up to six weeks without feeding, but then they can enter an “eating phase” and seek out a food source.

While sharks are omnivorous and will eat anything, usually they just eat meat and plants.

If there is not an abundant meat supply in the area, they will resort to eating sea vegetation.
