Vice President Kamala Harris struggles to speak as she discusses federal investments in workforce development

During a speech at the White House on Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris struggled to speak as she discussed federal investments in workforce development.

When Harris got stuck on the topic of transportation improvement, she was outlining the Biden administration’s initiatives to support job creation and increase access to various career paths.

“With your assistance, we are generating high-paying jobs in both large cities and little towns.

Jobs for doctors and nurses, as well as for engineers, pipefitters, and steelworkers, the vice president said.

Together, we are spending money on apprenticeships and training courses that equip workers with the knowledge and abilities they need to take on positions with better pay and benefits. especially those who come from underrepresented backgrounds.

To improve workers’ access to transportation, Harris said: “Together, we are increasing access to transit.” It seems like a tiny problem, but it’s a massive problem.

“You need to go,” she said, “and you need to be able to get there, perform the work, and go home.”

The vice president has made a string of awkward gaffes, and this one is only the most recent.

In a sit-down interview with CBS News earlier this week, Harris stumbled over her words and raised eyebrows.

In the five decades since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, she had been questioned about whether previous Democratic-majority Congresses and liberal administrations had failed by failing to codify abortion access.

To be really honest with you, I do believe that we should have believed what we did, but we do believe that some concerns have been resolved.

In the Face The Nation appearance, Harris noted that certain situations are simply resolved.

Harris talked briefly about the politically disastrous inflation statistics that were released earlier that day during her remarks on Wednesday.

The consumer price index increased by 9.1% in June compared to the same month last year, which is the largest increase since 1981.

The record-breaking spike is being caused by rising gas prices.

As a result of the nationwide labor shortage as well as rising gas costs, prices at the pump have increased by about 60 percent, while airfares have increased by about 34 percent.

Without a doubt, there is more work to be done.

However, it is significant to highlight that these figures do not accurately reflect the recent decline in gas prices, according to Harris.

“National gas prices on average have decreased practically every day for 30 days.” Prices have decreased by 40 cents a gallon since mid-June.

Similar sentiments were expressed earlier in the day by President Joe Biden, who termed the inflation figures “unacceptably high” but argued it was out of date.
