In order to prevent a head-on collision on a busy rural road, the irresponsible driver forced the incoming automobile into the grass verge at this precise time as he tried to pass the tractor on a blind turn.
On the B4348 in Herefordshire, the driver of a silver Toyota Yaris moved into the opposing lane behind another vehicle that was trying to pass a tractor around a blind turn.
However, there was insufficient space for the Yaris to join its lane again.
The motorist continued to overtake the tractor while staying in the incorrect lane, almost colliding head-on with the automobile that was recording the incident.
As they rapidly reduced their speed and pulled off the road to make room for the Yaris, the driver of the vehicle that was being recorded could be heard gasping.
Driving the recording car at the time, Andrew Crosby remarked, “I’m puzzled as to how somebody could be dumb enough to take such a risk.”
I was fortunate to be able to slow down sufficiently to have the choice of jogging onto the curb to avoid a collision.
Two further drivers who were behind the tractor chose not to try to pass on the blind turn.
There were no injuries or car damage in the event on August 29 of this year, and police were not summoned to the scene.
According to Bryn Brooker, Head of Road Safety at Nextbase, the manufacturer of the dash cam, “This might have been a devastating occurrence had the driver’s rapid thinking and response times not been on point.”
This event demonstrates the necessity for ongoing education and reeducation on highway safety.
Dash cameras are also required to assist spot incidences of reckless driving like this one, making it obvious that you are not at blame when another driver’s negligence results in an accident.
