Police are looking for a taxi driver in New York who pulled an elderly passenger from his vehicle, tried to rob her, and then fled in a despicable crime.
The 78-year-old lady had requested an Access-A-Ride taxi to transport her to physical therapy, but she started to worry when the driver drove past the location and wouldn’t let her get out.
A little while later, the taxi driver squealed to a halt, sprang out to open the passenger door, and grabbed his elderly customer by the leg to drag her out of the vehicle and onto the pavement.
Before a 35-year-old witness arrived and challenged the assault, the taxi driver had already robbed the woman of her phone and money.
Before getting back in the taxi and stepping on the throttle, the perpetrator swiftly handed the phone over and struck the good Samaritan with the moving vehicle.
In order to help the NYPD find the offender, Flatbush Shomrim Safety Patrol uploaded a picture of the assailant and video of the event that was recorded by onlookers on Twitter.
