British officials have reported that Ukraine has successfully liberated territory that has been under Russian control since 2014.
According to an intelligence update from the Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian forces made incremental advances from the village of Krasnohorivka, located near Donetsk city.
This marks one of the first instances since Russia’s invasion in 2022 that Ukraine’s forces have recaptured territory previously held by Russia since the annexation of Crimea.

On Tuesday, two Russian missiles struck a crowded restaurant in the city center, resulting in the destruction of the building.
