UFC news: Jon Jones returns, while Francis Ngannou exits the organization

In a week of unparalleled turmoil in the UFC, there have been some colossal entrances and exits.

The head of the UFC, Dana White, is embroiled in a domestic violence scandal after a video of him striking his wife surfaced.

White has refused to stand down as UFC president, and it appears he has had a busy week.

White has stated that UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will be leaving the organization because he was unable to reach a new contract agreement.

The title of the hard-hitting Cameroonian will be removed from him.

White stated, “We offered Ngannou a contract that would have made him the highest-paid heavyweight in history.”

“He declined the offer.

White added, “We’re going to terminate his contract. He is free to do what he pleases.”

Ngannou has been linked to a move to the up-and-coming Professional Fighters League promotion.

The PFL recently announced the signing of YouTube star and combat sports superstar Jake Paul, who is scheduled to make his cage fighting debut with the league.

White has wasted little time in arranging a match for the vacant heavyweight championship with the return of Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.

Additionally, an Irish boxer claims he would “kick the sh*t” out of Jake Paul for free.

Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters to ever enter the Octagon. However, he has been plagued by problems outside of the ring.

The former champion has agreed to face Ciryl Gane on March 4 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for UFC 285.

Gane was originally scheduled to face Ngannou, but he will instead face a rather different opponent, Jones.

Dricus du Plessis is also scheduled to face Derek Brunson at UFC 285 in Las Vegas in March 2023. Photo: UFC UFC 285 is also expected to host the next match of South African MMA superstar Dricus du Plessis.

Du Plessis is scheduled to battle middleweight No. 5 Derek Brunson on the first weekend of March.
