Tyrone Thompson is accused of killing Ms. Anderson in her apartment on Crebert Street in Mayfield

The mother of a 21-year-old who was brutally killed by her ex has pleaded with people not to ignore her, stating that doing so simply “makes things worse.”

When she learned that her daughter Mackenzie Anderson had been fatally stabbed by her ex-partner in March, Tabitha Acret, a resident of the NSW city of Newcastle, was vacationing in Cairns.

The way other people reacted, according to Ms. Acret, was among the hardest things she had to deal with in the three months since her daughter passed away.

I work as a dental hygienist and a speaker for a living.

I used to be surrounded by people, but now I notice that they are moving away from me, Ms. Acret said MamaMia.

“After this, I’m still a person.” Don’t run from me. Keeping your distance only makes it worse. I understand that you could be depressed or unsure of what to say.

Tyrone Thompson is accused of killing Ms. Anderson in her apartment on Crebert Street in Mayfield, Newcastle, around 10:40 p.m. on March 25.

Thompson is accused by police of stabbing her more than 20 times.

Nearby, her two-year-old son was discovered, covered in her blood but unhurt.

Ms. Acret has previously urged more males to participate in initiatives that promote the cessation of domestic abuse against women.

Ms. Acret talked up about her “new reality” and the “crushing pain” she was feeling less than a week after her daughter was brutally murdered.

On March 30, Ms. Acret posted on Instagram, “We tragically lost our beautiful little child.”

Sadly, this is our new reality. No parent should have to bury a kid. Our hearts are currently filled with an overwhelming sadness.

In order to ensure that no other family experiences the suffering her daughter did, Ms. Acret said she wanted to have discussions about violence against women three months after her daughter’s death.

She argued that it was time for a shift and to seriously consider how society was failing men and why they were committing violent crimes.

Despite the fact that the conversation was emotionally draining, Ms. Acret insisted that justice must be served for her daughter in order to try to stop similar alleged crimes in the future.

The boy’s godmother previously told Daily Mail Australia that Mackenzie’s son is receiving lots of hugs and care from family.

He is secure, said Alice McEvoy.

Although he is safe and receiving lots of cuddles, he is requesting his mother.

The charges against Thompson include murder, aggravated entry into a dwelling with intent, and violation of an AVO.

On the day of Ms Anderson’s death, it’s understood she spent several hours drinking and socialising with Thompson.

He is reported to have left the home but returned some hours later, entering Ms Anderson’s unit ‘without her permission’.

Ms Anderson called cops to notify them that Thompson was breaching the AVO, but tragically, by the time they arrived – only minutes later – she had allegedly been stabbed 20 times and died at the scene.

Police said Thompson was still at the scene and had cuts and damage to his hands.

He was arrested and taken to John Hunter Hospital.

Friends of the couple said Ms Anderson and Thompson were in the early stages of rekindling their relationship after she separated from him months earlier.
