Two siblings were arrested in Nebo, outside Sekhukhune, Limpopo, for allegedly murdering their younger brother with an axe. They were remanded in custody.

Monday night, January 9, the horrible tragedy apparently occurred at their home in the village of Eenkanteen Mampaha.

Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) got information from community members after the victim was hacked with an axe following an alleged altercation with his two brothers, according to the information at their disposal.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the victim’s severed body and detained the two perpetrators. Matshele Nelson Mogapu, age 53, has been identified as the decedent.

Additionally, the body of a three-year-old boy was recovered from a pit latrine in Limpopo.

Malesela stated that on Wednesday, 60-year-old Hollo Mapadimeng and 62-year-old Seageng Mogapu came before the Nebo Magistrates Court and were charged with murder.

The siblings were ordered to remain in detention until their next court appearance on January 19 for a formal bail application.
