The Navy is investigating why two ships nearly collided in San Diego Bay on Tuesday.

Supposedly, the guided-missile destroyer Momsen and the dock landing ship Harpers Ferry were involved in a close call.

Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, the @SanDiegoWebCam Twitter account released a video of the event. However, officials have not confirmed the exact time the incident happened.

The video’s accompanying caption says, “Warship Chicken in San Diego Bay.”

The video depicts Momsen and Harpers Ferry approaching each other directly before each ship makes a left turn.

It appears that the tape also has audio of the ship’s sailors communicating their movements.

Lt. Samuel Boyle, a spokesman for the U.S. 3rd Fleet, said that while the vessels were traveling in opposing directions “in close proximity” on Tuesday, they moved to safety.

On November 29, 2022, two Navy ships came near to colliding in San Diego Bay.

He stated that there were no casualties or damage to the ships.
