Twitter is now doubting Minnie Dlamini’s acting credentials

Minnie Dlamini has taken steps to reestablish herself in the entertainment sector since the announcement of her divorce from Quinton Jones.

This, however, appears to be easier said than done, given that Twitter users are now questioning her acting credentials.

Experts weigh in on Madonna’s ‘new face’ after a facelift and fillers.

Minnie Dlamini, formerly known as “the body” and one of South Africa’s emerging entertainment stars, is quietly attempting to return to the top.

Since the actress and her ex-husband, a producer, divorced, the actress has continued to face repercussions from the divorce and the death of her brother, according to ZAlebs.

According to the journal, rumors about her sleeping her way to the top and her mental health struggles have also circulated.

After a recent cover shot with veteran actress Connie Chiume, the television host and actress reemerged in the limelight.

February’s The Plug South Africa cover features Dlamini and Chiume.

This issue, titled “Storyteller,” focuses on the next generation of (female) cinema storytellers. ZAlebs reports that while the cover and article were first positively received, fans quickly flocked to Twitter to question whether Dlamini deserves the cover.

“These women symbolize two generations of South African cinema and narrative. In their own ways, they have contributed to its growth, bringing us into the future. Multichoice is a gathering place for storytellers, and via these features, they have helped us recount the stories of two generations of South African film and television, bringing people together through a shared appreciation for storytelling.

Tweeps are not sure that Dlamini deserves to be on the cover alongside an industry veteran like Chiume, despite the fact that the journal defines her as a “TV personality,” “actress,” and “currently the head of her own production company.”

Phil Mphela, a TV broadcaster and entertainment analyst, set the tone, stating:

Our sector may be so slothful!

Mama Connie would have made a greater impact if she had been coupled with one of the hundreds of young female actresses and filmmakers currently active.

Similar to passing the baton… based on the subject of the cover story https://t.co/yQj16AL82U pic.twitter.com/HDCt9tfXt

Many Twitter users concur, directly criticizing her lack of acting expertise.

In 2010, Minnie Dlamini made her film acting debut in Generations, a SABC 1 soap opera in which she appeared as Miranda.

— My sister (@lerona ona) on February 7, 2023: @DStv is the new SABC – on the decline. Extremely haughty.
