Tulz Madala talks YFM return

During his tenure on the third season of “Big Brother Mzansi,” the presenter Tulani Madala, also known as Tulz, captured the public’s interest.

He may not have won the R2 million big prize, but he holds the record for surviving 10 consecutive weeks in the “Big Brother” house without being eliminated.

Madala worked in the entertainment sector before to appearing on the reality TV show, having radio positions at 5Fm and YFM.

This week, he co-hosted “Home Run With Ayanda MVP” with Phindile Ayanda Mdluli on YFM.

The station hailed his comeback on social media, writing, “Our favorites have reunited. Joining @ayandamvp on #HomeRunWithAyandaMVP is @tulzmadala.”

Madala confesses that his return to the airwaves was “overwhelming.”

“I literally shook the first time I had to see my traffic report. Not because I was afraid, but because the moment was so genuine, it had been five years since I had spoke into a microphone, especially on YFM.

He told IOL Entertainment, “I got a call asking if I was interested in working with Ayanda, and the response was, of course, absolutely.

“I’ve worked with her before, and I’ve always had the feeling that we’d work together again one day; God has granted me the opportunity. As soon as I received the call, I said sure, and here we are.”

Madala and Mdluli worked together for the first time five years ago, and Mdluli returned to the youth-oriented radio station this year. During their time apart, both personas pursued distinct career paths.

“This is how I find myself back on the radio, working with the person with whom it all began and having evolved as humans so much. It’s a pleasure to work on such a prominent prime time slot as drive time, said Madala.

Since leaving the “Big Brother” home, Madala has been extremely busy. He has a YouTube podcast titled “The Game.”

Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., “Home Run With Ayanda MVP” features Ayanda MVP and Tulz Madala.
