Tufts’ diversity initiatives are accused for separating minorities from whites

Black and ethnic minority staff members will be kept apart from their white coworkers at Tufts University’s diversity activities, which have drawn criticism from certain quarters.

Despite making an effort to comprehend a “cross-cultural discussion,” the institution has divided the two sessions, which will begin on October 17, according to the participants’ races.

To “provide a vital, safe environment for employees and professors at Tufts whose racial demographics are designated as “BIPOC,” one session in the series, titled Radical Healing,” is intended.

It serves as a meeting space for Black, Indigenous, and people of color to debate how disadvantaged groups should live “free from prejudice, racism, and oppression.”

Additionally, the workshops are designed especially for those who often find themselves “alone or one of a handful in mostly white places on campus.”

If you fit this description, Radical Healing is a “invitation expressly for you,” according to Tufts University. Additionally, it emphasized that “all your identities” are welcome.

White individuals are not officially prohibited from attending, but the institution has also organized a second event that is “selected for white participation.”

Unpacking Whiteness will be a place for individuals to practice “anti-racism” and to learn from the real-life experiences of minorities in the US, according to the university.

And white individuals who “possess places of privilege” were invited especially to the conversations.

Outrage from the school community and beyond was generated by the decision to divide the session participants by race.

This bull***t has got to end, we just have to quit putting up with this bullshit, commented one enraged individual online. Any organization that attempts this has to be promptly sued.

A second individual, who identifies as a former Tufts student, said, “As a formerly proud alumni of Tufts, I am dumbfounded that they are advocating SEGREGATION and RACE SHAMING.

“Until Tufts University restores racial compassion and tolerance,” the donor announces, “I will stop making my yearly gift.” The alumni are also urged to DEFUND Tufts.

Separation of faculty based on race for a safe place, a third angry user exclaimed? That is prejudice, my friends! Ridiculous! Stupids in command.

Another criticized the institution for being “woke”: It seems that Tufts does not adhere to MLK’s concept of not seeing individuals based only on the color of their skin.

What a terrible path to take in the name of wokeness, one may think.

One shocked user commented, addressing the university directly: “Way to Go!! You are delaying the progress of your students, teachers, and campus by years!

“Everyone who campaigned against segregation is now either squirming in their graves or is completely embarrassed!” You don’t reverse direction! You are separating people by your actions! Gross.’

We reached out to Tufts University’s Diversity and Inclusion coordinators for comment.
