It is anticipated, but not verified, that the former president will declare his candidacy for president in 2024.

Trump declared at a rally on Monday that he would make a statement the following week, but it was unclear whether he would actually do so after GOP aides urged him to delay the declaration until after the Georgia senate seat runoff.

Plans for the announcement were finalized as the president escalated his assaults against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who decisively won re-election on Tuesday and had been predicted to be Trump’s GOP rival in 2024.

On Monday, Trump said during a rally that he will make a statement on Tuesday.

Both Trump’s former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated that the midterm elections put Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a far stronger position than the former president.

Former Trump press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who now works for Fox News, pushed Trump on live to delay an announcement until after the Georgia Senate special election.

McEnany stated on Wednesday’s episode of ‘Outnumbered’, “I know there’s a tendency to start talking about 2024, but don’t do it!”

“2022 is not finished. Every ounce of Republican effort must be devoted to halting the Biden plan, and Georgia is the perfect place to do so.

McEnany, when asked if the former president should visit Georgia, responded, “I believe we must make strategic considerations.” Governor DeSantis, I believe he should be welcomed to the state in light of yesterday night’s events. You must consider the situation on the ground.

According to Georgia’s election law, the Georgia Senate race is set to go to a runoff on December 6 because neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote. Sen. Raphael Warnock, the incumbent Democrat, has a tiny edge over his opponent, Herschel Walker, the Republican.

As the former president is finally prepared to launch his second run for the White House, many of his loyal fans within the Republican Party are beginning to defect because they blame him for the party’s poor performance in the midterm elections.

Many Republicans pointed the finger at the 76-year-old former president for supporting candidates they deemed unelectable.

‘Never forget. Gregg Nunziata, a former member of Marco Rubio’s Senate campaign staff, remarked, “Trump chose guaranteed losers in winnable races.”

Nunziata stated, “He chose weak candidates in contests that should have been a slam dunk, necessitating the party to spend a ton of money we’d rather spend elsewhere.” And speaking of money, he amassed tens of millions without contributing a dollar to R.Trump is seen campaigning for DeSantis in Pensacola, Florida, on November 3, 2018 - three days before the vote

Veteran Republican strategist Scott Reed stated, ‘I mean, we had a historic opportunity, but Trump’s recruiting of unelectable people destroyed it.

“Trump has now lost three consecutive elections for the Republican Party; it’s time to end this insanity.”

White House correspondent for Fox News, Jacqui Heinrich, tweeted, “GOP source says if it wasn’t evident before, it should be clear now. We have an issue with Trump.’

Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis defeated Democrat Charlie Crist by 19 points, handily securing a second term. Trump spoke to DeSantis as a “typical REPUBLICAN governor with excellent public relations.”

Many Republicans appear to be placing their bets on Ron DeSantis, describing him as a far more electable candidate who does not carry the baggage that many fear Donald Trump could use to tarnish the Republican brand.

Trump’s former chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, stated that following the midterm elections, DeSantis was in a far stronger position than Trump.

Mulvaney stated, “Tonight, between being Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, you want to be Ron DeSantis.”

“DeSantis triumphs tonight, while Trump is performing poorly”

Trump asserted that DeSantis begged for his support prior to the 2018 election. On July 31, 2018, the two is seen campaigning together in Tampa, Florida.

Three days before the election, Trump is pictured campaigning for DeSantis in Pensacola, Florida, on November 3, 2018.

After DeSantis’s victory on Tuesday, Trump criticized Fox, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Post on Thursday evening for allegedly supporting him.

In a lengthy statement released Thursday evening by his PAC, Trump noted that the three News Corp media brands are ‘all in for Governor Ron DeSanctimonious,’ whom he described as ‘an ordinary REPUBLICAN governor with excellent public relations.’

Trump suggested that DeSantis’ 19-plus point reelection victory on Tuesday was aided by the fact that the Florida governor did not have to close his state during the coronavirus pandemic because of the ‘SUNSHINE, where people from poorly run states up north would go regardless of who the Governor was, just like I did!’

Trump then stated that his endorsement of DeSantis in the 2018 Florida Republican gubernatorial contest made him.

Trump remembered, “Ron came to me in 2017 in horrible condition, having lost in a landslide to a very good Agriculture Commissioner, Adam Putnam, who was loaded with cash and outstanding poll numbers.” “Ron had low approval, poor polling, and no money, but he believed he could win with my endorsement.”
