Former US President Donald Trump said he requested his daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner to abstain from his 2024 presidential campaign to insulate them from the “nasty” political world.
On Monday, Trump claimed on his Truth Social page that he never asked the pair to join his presidential campaign in order to shield them from “false and corrupt news” and political figures.
Ivanka released a statement last month explaining that she will not be participating in the campaign, opting instead to focus on her children, as she was conspicuously absent from the Mar-a-Lago kickoff. Her spouse elected to attend.

Trump had reportedly urged his daughter and son-in-law, who have three children together, to join his team at the time.

Before delving into his goals for the country, he announced that he intended to run for president, eliciting raucous applause.

He vowed to make his campaign about working people, restoring American energy independence, overhauling elections so that there are ‘only paper ballots,’ and reviving a ‘agenda of greatness,’ despite the fact that leading Republicans and the media advised him not to run.
THE FIRST ROW OF HISTORY? At Tuesday night’s announcement, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Jared Kushner, Eric Trump, and Lara Trump were seated in the front row, along with Trump hat-wearing fans.
