Tragic Shooting in Las Vegas Kills 9-Year-Old Boy and Injures 6-Year-Old Brother

Last week, tragedy struck a family in Las Vegas when two young brothers were hit by a stray bullet while watching “Spongebob Squarepants” in their apartment.

SirArmani Clark, 9, was on the couch with his 6-year-old brother, Honor Tate, when the bullet burst through the wall, killing SirArmani and injuring Honor.

Their mother, Justine Tate, expressed her grief to FOX 5, saying, “If I could have taken that bullet for them, I would have.

I would rather them live without a mommy than to lose their life.”

The bullet struck SirArmani in the head, shattering before hitting Honor in the leg.

When their family heard the gunshot, they rushed into the living room. Justine recalled, “We heard Honor whimper.

No sound from Armani… He doesn’t say anything.

He doesn’t respond to me. All I can visualize at this point is my baby’s head dropping and falling to the side.”

SirArmani was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he later died, while Honor is expected to recover from his injuries, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Justine and Marieal Collins had recently moved their family from Reno to Las Vegas for Justine’s work.

The grieving parents shared that they know it will be hard for Honor to move forward from the tragedy and grow up without his older brother.

According to a GoFundMe page raising money for SirArmani’s funeral expenses, Justine wrote, “My children didn’t deserve any of this! Honor must go on with life after he has watched the most traumatizing thing a 6 year old can imagine.”

She also shared with FOX 5 that her younger son is traumatized by the incident and does not want to leave the house.

The neighbor responsible for the stray bullet was arrested following the shooting.

Authorities have not released his name but confirmed he was a convicted felon who should not have had access to a gun.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill expressed his outrage to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, saying, “He is out there showing off with a gun, and then pulls the trigger on the gun and kills one kid and hospitalizes another.”

It remains unclear what charges the neighbor will face.
