Top Texas cop threatened to terminate anyone who didn’t respond to the Uvalde school shooting


Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety Steve McCraw told CNN that he would terminate anyone who did not perform their duties.

The head of the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that he would resign if his department was held responsible for the sluggish reaction in Uvalde.

According to reports, law enforcement personnel responding to the shooting in May waited almost an hour to apprehend the gunman.

CNN claimed that Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, would retire if his agency was found responsible for the delayed reaction during the school shooting in Uvalde.

McCraw also promised to dismiss anyone in his department who failed to perform their jobs during the school shooting in Uvalde.

On May 24, a gunman fatally shot 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School.

Officers from different departments waited almost an hour before shooting fire on the gunman besieged inside a classroom.

“Despite the immediate presence of local law enforcement leaders, there was an unacceptable delay before officers breached the classroom, neutralized the attacker, and began rescue efforts. We do not know at this time whether responders could have saved more lives by shortening this delay,” according to an interim report from the Texas House investigative committee on the shooting released in July.

McCraw told CNN that “no one gets a pass” and that he would investigate the actions of the more than 90 DPS officers who responded to the shooting. CNN stated that he made inconsistent statements at a Texas Highway Patrol captains’ meeting the previous month. According to minutes obtained by CNN, McCraw stated, “And by the way, no one is losing their jobs.

McCraw told CNN that he was referring to a single DPS regional director.
