Top Contenders for Winning the 2022 Qatar World Cup

Top Contenders for Winning the 2022 Qatar World Cup

The World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner, and even though some might think there is still time until this show’s start, it isn’t like that. Though for soccer fans, every day is like an eternity, and quite frankly, we understand them.

The debates about the favorites and the possible dark horses or surprises are already underway. World Cup odds were released long ago, and some suffered minor changes, but overall, everything is established and at its disposal. Those same odds favor a few nations in the race for the world title, and we will present them in the following few lines.

Brazil and France lead the way, slightly ahead of all the other crews.

Brazil was dominant in the South American qualifiers, showing incredible quality and a much more serious tactical approach than in previous years. It seems that a loss to Argentina at home in the finals of Copa America woke all the players, including Neymar, who looks more mature than before.

Also, the Brazilian side got a massive boost in Barca’s new signing, Raphinha, who was always a good player but evolved into a monster in the past two years. Besides these guys, Selecao has Gabriel Jesus, Vinicius, Richarlison, Casemiro, and a bunch of other superstars.

France was also shocked last year, losing in the round of 16 of the European championship to Switzerland. Their leading player, Kylian Mbappe, had a turbulent year in PSG, Paul Pogba in Manchester, but both are fully focused on erasing that and defending the world crown.

France has a fantastic Karim Benzema, who was the best player in the world in the past year, leading Real Madrid to the UEFA Champions League and scoring an unreal number of goals. We won’t spend more of your time listing France’s players, but stop here.

Argentina comes to the 2022 World Cup as one of the teams that are all-in on winning the title. This is the last big tournament for Messi, Di Maria, and several other players, making it even more inspirational for them. Let us remind you that the Gauchos beat Brazil at home in the Copa America finals and, after that, went on to post remarkable results in the WC qualifiers and friendlies, so it’s no wonder why many predict Argentina’s victorious conquest in Qatar.

Belgium is another team that is at its peak. After this, there won’t be too many chances for them to prove their worth. The Devils are arguably one of the most talented teams of this era, but they always come up short in crucial moments. Looking at the roster, we can’t realize why because this team has De Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku, etc.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal aren’t in the center of attention, and many forgot the 2016 EURO champions, even though this is a major mistake. Another mistake is that people like to put Ronaldo in front of the team, and the situation in Portugal is much different.

This unit has superstars like Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Jota, and others. We can say that Ronaldo depends more upon them than the other way around. Anyhow, Portugal can’t be forgotten.

Other teams worth mentioning are Spain and Germany. The Red Fury has an extremely potent and talented team, and they only lack one superstar forward to be an elite contender for any trophy. The future of this assembly is in Pedri and Gavi, two incredibly gifted youngsters already paired in Barcelona.

On the other side, Germany has been on the decline in the past few years, but not counting on Die Mannschaft is a very stupid thing. We’ve seen this nation winning trophies with much weaker units than the current one. For many, including the head coach Hansi Flick, this is positive because there is no pressure on the team, which is often very beneficial.

Be prepared because the World Cup soccer 2022 is coming pretty quickly.
