Tom Brady is attempting to determine why the NFL is fining him for something that did not occur.
During the most recent episode of his SiriusXM “Let’s Go” podcast, the Buccaneers quarterback revealed that he has already appealed his $16,444 fine for attempting to tackle Cowboys cornerback Malik Hooker on a fumble return during Tampa Bay’s season-ending wild-card loss.
“I’m somewhat disappointed,” Brady remarked. “I missed him when I attempted to tackle him with my right shoulder.” And I was unwilling to extend my arm, so I attempted to place him on the ground. I attempted to place him on the ground but failed. Completely! I didn’t even punch him. I attempted to trip him, but I failed!
“Therefore, I do not understand how you could be penalized for something that never occurred. Are they pursuing a goal? It’s like targeting, only you missed the target yet they still refer to it as targeting. I must determine and comprehend why this is the case. I wish our NFLPA was stronger because of this.”

Prior to that in the interview, the quarterback uttered several F-bombs when his co-host, Jim Gray, challenged him about his playing future and added, “You’re leaving everyone guessing.”
Brady stated, “If I had known what I was going to do, I would have already done it.” “I’m taking it a day at a time.”
Gray said, with a chuckle, “I sense you’re irritated by the question.”

Since his 23rd season concluded last week, Brady explained that he has spent time with his family.
