Tilda Swinton debuted neon yellow hair at Venice Film Festival

On Tuesday, Tilda Swinton debuted a bright yellow hairstyle at the Venice Film Festival.
The actress stated during a press conference that the outfit was a tribute to the Ukrainian flag, as reported by Variety.
This week marks the premiere of “The Eternal Daughter,” starring Swinton, at the festival.
Something is being loaded.

Tilda Swinton wore neon yellow hair prior to the premiere of her new film at the Venice Film Festival, as a tribute to the Ukrainian flag.

The actress, who will appear in the upcoming mystery drama “The Eternal Daughter,” debuted her new hair color at a photocall for the film, matching it with a blue pinstripe shirt and red pants. She wore her pixie cut slicked to one side, allowing the bright yellow hue to stand out.

According to Variety, a reporter at the film’s press conference complimented the actress on her new hair color. She said, “It’s an honor to wear half the Ukrainian flag.”

Swinton sported a gravity-defying hairdo on the red carpet, displaying her characteristic bleach blonde roots behind the yellow strands. For the event, the “Suspiria” star also chose a slinky lavender gown. She completed her attire with similar heels and stunning rings with multicolor gems.

Swinton’s choice to honor Ukraine, which was invaded by Russian forces in February, comes months after a woman disrupted the Cannes Film Festival presentation of her film “Three Thousand Years of Longing” to protest sexual abuse in the nation.

Photos taken during the May 20 premiere of the film starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba show a topless protester shouting at the festival crowd with the words “stop raping us” inscribed on her body.

At the film’s press presentation, the actress also wore a blue and yellow ensemble, but it is unclear whether this was a tribute to Ukraine.

This is not the first time that notable personalities have chosen to honor Ukraine at the Italian film festival. According to the New York Post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened the event on August 31 with an impassioned appeal to the filmmakers and performers in attendance.

In a pre-recorded video, Zelensky referred to the war as “a horror that is not 120 minutes but 189 days long” and urged “cultural figures” to speak out against the fight.
