This weekend’s King Misuzulu coronation

Durban – This weekend, Mzansi Magic will live-broadcast the coronation of King Misuzulu Sinqobile KaZwelithini, allowing South African viewers to witness history being made.

“Bayede: The Royal Zulu Coronation Live” will depict the conclusion of King Misuzulu’s months-long ascent to the throne.

The Zulu monarch will be crowned the ninth king of the Zulu country in a major ceremony on Saturday, October 29 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. The celebration can now be viewed by millions of additional South Africans from the comfort of their own homes.

After the death of his father, Monarch Goodwill Zwelithini, in March 2021 and lengthy court fights when his brother, Prince Simakade Jackson Zulu, challenged him for the throne, the king was finally announced to the nation in August 2022.

Shirley Adonisi, director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net, stated that the channel is privileged to broadcast this historic event.

“This is a historic event, and we are thrilled that millions of viewers will be able to watch it on Mzansi Magic.

“We are pleased to bring Mzansi Magic viewers along with us to see a ceremony steeped in rich history and culture,” added Adonisi.

“Bayede: The Royal Zulu Coronation Live” will air live on Mzansi Magic from Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. (DStv Channel 161).
