Michael Kopsa, age 66, passed away.
The iconic Canadian actor, best known for his performances in “The X-Files” and “Smallville,” died on October 23 due to “complications from a brain tumor,” according to his ex-wife Lucia Frangione.
His ex-wife, who had teen daughter Nora with the actor, wrote on Tuesday, “The wonderful Michael Kopsa, my dear friend and the father of my daughter Nora, died of a brain tumor on October 23, 2022.
“He was a phenomenal theater and film performer, voice actor, carpenter, musician, and painter.
“Most importantly, he was a richly present and loving father to our Nora.”
“I will miss you terribly, my beloved buddy and co-parent,” she concluded.
After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in arts and sciences, Kopsa specialized in science fiction, starring in successful series such as “Stargate SG-1,” “The X-Files,” “The Net,” and “The Outer Limits.”
In the 2000 film “X-Men: Evolution,” he provided the voice of the Beast.
In 2005, Kopsa portrayed Ned Cecil in Marvel’s “Fantastic Four,” and in 2011, he appeared in “Apollo 18” and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”
His voice has also included in numerous video games, notably the English dub of “Mobile Suit Gundam” as Char Aznable.
Peter Kelamis, a fellow voice actor, has spearheaded the tributes to Kopsa.

“A person with so much talent and such a kind nature. There are several who will miss you. Your battle was lengthy…and you have earned a break. Until our next meeting. Love, your pal.”
