The Tax Convention between Japan and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria has received general support from both governments.

The Convention includes rules for defining the extent of taxation in the two countries, doing away with international double taxation, and prohibiting tax evasion and avoidance.

It is anticipated that the Convention will also encourage more economic and mutual investment between the two nations.

After each of the two Governments has finished the required internal processes, the Convention will be signed.

Following the conclusion of the domestic process in both nations, the Convention will then come into effect (in the case of Japan, approval by the Diet).
