According to various accounts, South African actress and model Charlbi Dean died in August of a bacterial infection.
The “Black Lightning” and “Triangle of Sadness” actress was only 32 years old when she succumbed to a sudden illness identified as bacterial sepsis by the New York City medical examiner on Wednesday, as reported by Fox News Digital.
According to reports, the actress’s death was declared an accident. She passed away on August 29 in a New York City hospital, a source told The Post at the time.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Capnocytophaga, the bacteria that caused her illness, is uncommon and can be found in the mouths of dogs and cats, but it does not make the animals sick.
The CDC states on its website that Capnocytophaga bacteria can be transmitted to humans by bites, scratches, or intimate contact with a dog or cat and can cause sickness, including sepsis.
The October 2022 film “Triangle of Sadness” featured Charlbi Dean’s most prominent part.

“People with specific health conditions are more susceptible to infection, but anybody can become ill with Capnocytophaga bacteria,” the CDC adds.
People said that the full autopsy has not been released, thus it is unclear whether interaction with a dog or cat caused her sickness.
According to USA Today, Dean’s brother told Rolling Stone in August that his sister was involved in a serious automobile accident in 2009 and had her spleen removed.

Dean’s starring part in “Triangle of Sadness” opposite Woody Harrelson was the most significant of her career before her untimely demise. In October, the film was released in theaters around the United States.
She had a recurring role in the CW series “Black Lightning,” which was based on DC Comics and ran from 2018 to 2021.
Dean’s other film roles include “Blood in the Water,” “Don’t Sleep,” “An Interview with God,” “Porthole,” and her 2010 debut in “Spud.”
She appeared in British Vogue, GQ, and Cosmopolitan magazines as a model.
Dean and fellow model Luke Volker got engaged in April.
