The Queen has approved the nomination of The Very Reverend Dominic Matthew Jesse Barrington, Dean of St James Cathedral, Chicago, for election as Dean of York

The Very Reverend Dominic Matthew Jesse Barrington, Dean of St. James Cathedral in Chicago, has received the Queen’s approval for his nomination to succeed The Right Reverend Dr. Jonathan Frost as Dean of York after his appointment as Bishop of Portsmouth.

Background
Dominic received his education from Hatfield College in Durham and his ministry training from Ripon College in Cuddesdon.

He was ordained as a priest in 1996 and performed his duties in the Mortlake with East Sheen Team Ministry, in the Diocese of Southwark.

Dominic was named St. Chad’s College, Durhamchaplain ,’s in 1998. Prior to being named the benefice’s rector in 2010, he served as Priest-in-Charge of St. Peter and St. Paul with St. Michael, Kettering, in the Diocese of Peterborough.

In The Episcopal Church in America, Dominic moved to his current position as dean of St. James Cathedral, Chicago, in 2015.
