The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has detected 482 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 3 999 345 since the outbreak

Since the outbreak, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has identified 3,999,345 cases of COVID-19, an increase of 482.

According to the most recent data, 165 people who contracted the virus in the past 24 hours were from Gauteng, 95 were from the Western Cape, 95 were from the Western Cape, 68 were from Mpumalanga, 64 were from KwaZulu-Natal, 40 were from the Eastern Cape, and 20 were from the North West. The remaining provinces each had fewer than 20 infections.

Three of the eight people who died as a result of the respiratory illness in the preceding 24 to 48 hours.

As a result, the total number of fatalities to date is 101 915.

The NICD reported that there have been nine more hospital admissions in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 hospital patients to 1,105.
