In an exclusive interview with The South African, reality actress and businesswoman Melany “Mel” Viljoen answered some of our most pressing questions about the Real Housewives of Pretoria (RHOPTA) reunion.
After viewing clips of yourself during the reunion, do you believe you lived up to the “meal girl” moniker that Tweeps assigned to you?
No, I did not live up to the reputation of “mean girl” at the reunion. I had a severe headache that night and was in no condition to conclude on a negative note. In addition, my fellow housewives urged me beforehand not to be cruel.
2.When some of the tapes aired, you appeared a bit astonished and stated several times that your remarks may have been misinterpreted or that you shouldn’t have said certain things. Do you believe you will change next season?
Who says there will be another season? The issue is not what I say, but rather the context that was omitted along with it.
You are without a doubt the most popular housewife in Pretoria. What is that like? Did you anticipate the response you received?
I was not expecting it, but I adore it. I receive a lot of love and support from the public, but I want the world of nails to be a better place, and if I can make that happen through this platform, I will be extremely happy.

What is your preferred housewife? Why is it called Kiki?
At this point in time, I kind of like Rhona. I know it’s unusual, but I’m sort of feeling Rhona. She admits to having engaged in unethical behavior. But she has no heir about it, nor does she have any attitude about it. She stated that she will repair the issue as soon as possible and that she does not wish for any animosity between us.
And I adore this quality in her. Therefore, Rhona is currently my favorite housewife.
