The First Lady, Mrs. Linda Ramkalawan joins husband to commemorate the 29th anniversary of Seychelles’ Constitution Day

Yesterday morning, the President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, was joined by the First Lady, Mrs. Linda Ramkalawan, and other high-level officials at the ‘Lavwa Lanasyon’ monument to commemorate the 29th anniversary of Seychelles’ Constitution Day.

Guests in attendance watched the ceremonial hoisting of the Seychelles’ National Flag by Seychellois Women and Men in Uniform, supported by the National Brass Band performing the Seychelles’ National Anthem.

The program also included a number of performances by Seychellois artists and teenagers who shared messages.

President Ramkalawan, in his address for the occasion, emphasized the importance of the Constitution and the essence of democracy that it derives, which continues to preserve the rights of the country as a sovereign democratic nation and its peoples.

“We honor our constitution on this auspicious day.” We have once again reinforced our faith in democracy, knowing that our constitution will continue to guide us while also protecting the rights of all citizens.

This is what we have stated, and this is the message we want the rest of the world to hear.
