According to the Los Angeles County Coroner, the cause of Lisa Marie Presley’s death is still unknown after an initial examination.
Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson for the LA County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, told CNN: “Presley was examined on January 14 and the cause of death was withheld.”
“Deferred indicates that a cause of death has not been determined following an autopsy, and the medical examiner is asking further inquiry, including additional investigations. “Once the results of the tests/studies are received, the doctor reevaluates the case and determines the cause of death,” explained Ardalani.
Presley reportedly suffered a heart arrest at her Calabasas, California, home on January 12 at the age of 54.
“Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie,” Priscilla’s representative told The Post at the time of Lisa Marie’s death.
They are deeply appreciative of everyone’s support, love, and prayers, and need privacy during this extremely painful time.
Lisa Marie was the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, whose family had a history of cardiovascular issues.

In 1977, at the age of 42, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll passed away from heart troubles. At the age of 46, Gladys Smith Presley died of heart failure in 1958. In 1979, at the age of 63, Elvis’ father Vernon Presley died of heart arrest.

Presley is survived by her daughter, the 33-year-old actress Riley Keough, and her twin 14-year-old children, Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivien Ann Lockwood, who will inherit Graceland.

This Sunday, a public memorial for the late Lisa Marie Presley will be held at Graceland, where her burial is now being prepared across from Elvis’.
“Riley, Harper, Finley, and Priscilla are appreciative of the support, condolences, and outpouring of affection in memory of their dear Lisa Marie. The family has announced that a public memorial service will be held on the front lawn of Graceland in Memphis on Sunday, January 22 at 9:00 a.m.
“In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation from those who wish to send something,” the family wrote.
