Thami Ndlala reportedly owes Steyn City over R225 000 in arrears

Thami Ndlala, Lerato Kganyago’s husband, is said to owe Steyn City around R225 000 in arrears. The corporation has since petitioned the court with an order requiring the businessman to pay, according to the Daily Sun.

The debt is for a three-bedroom apartment that Ndlala leased last year. Lerato Kganyago’s husband, according to the publication, failed to make the R25 000 monthly payments.

Ndlala failed to pay the rental costs from May 2021 to January 2022, and due to interest, he is now liable to pay, R225 000.

Speaking to the publication the flashy big-spender said the apartment wasn’t his and he was just helping a friend out.

“I was helping a black brother. I don’t live on that property, which is a three-bedroom apartment. I leased that property, which is a three-bedroom apartment for a friend who couldn’t do so because he was blacklisted.”

Ndlala says he leased the property through his company, Thami Ndlala Holdings because he had the capacity to do so.

He adds that he paid the R50 000 deposit and first month’s rent so his friend could move his family into the apartment.

“I don’t understand why they weren’t paying the rent. It’s now coming back to bite me because I was helping someone.

Earlier this year, the businessman handed his wife a hotel and Mercedes-Benz for Valentine’s Day.

Last year, the 40-year-old booked the FNB Stadium and hired Zonke Dikana to perform for his wife.
