Tesco has removed its own-brand grated cheddar from store shelves because of concern that it may contain “small pieces of clear soft plastic.”

The global retailer issued a customer advisory and recalled 500 grams of Creamfields grated cheddar with an expiration date of March 23, 2023.

A product recall placard stated, “We are recalling one date code of 500 grams of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar.”

This is because the product may contain small fragments of clear, soft plastic that make it dangerous for consumption.

The global store issued a customer advisory and recalled 500g Creamfields grated cheddar (shown) having an expiration date of March 23, 2023.

Tesco encouraged customers not to consume the affected cheese and apologized for “any inconvenience caused.”

The recall entitles consumers to a full refund regardless of whether they have a receipt.

The Food Standards Agency advised, “If you have purchased the item in question, do not consume it.”

“Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund; no receipt is necessary.”

The above product recall placard stated, “We are recalling one date code of 500g of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar.”

In 2021, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, and M&S were required to recall many products due to erroneous date labeling.

The FSA has added items such as Lindt chocolate, pre-cooked chicken, and sausage rolls to its recall list, along with the associated reasons.

Some of the products were recalled because they failed to mention allergies such as soy and wheat.

On the list were the Lindt Lindor salted caramel chocolate bar, the M&S 20 cocktail sausage buns, and the Asda pork belly slices with maple flavor.
