teen shoots two in Texas home invasion

A 17-year-old was at a property in Channelview, Texas, when three masked, armed men forced their way inside. Saturday, authorities reported that the teen then seized a shotgun and shot at the men, striking and killing two of them.

Ed Gonzalez, the sheriff of Harris County, stated that a second 17-year-old, a 12-year-old, and an adult female were also in the home during the incident that occurred on Friday night.

Two men were pronounced dead at the site, while a third man left in a dark-colored four-door vehicle, according to authorities. According to police, nobody else was hurt.

The matter will be brought to a grand jury, according to Gonzalez.

Channelview, a Houston suburb, is home to approximately 45,000 people. According to research from the Rand Corporation, Texas placed first in gun ownership last year. In 2021, the state issued more than one million gun licenses, and 45.7% of adults report living in houses with firearms.

Earlier this year, a homeowner in Houston shot and killed an alleged home invader, while a man shot and killed a man who reportedly forced his way into his mother’s home in Houston.
