Sunday evening, Taylor Swift topped the MTV Video Music Awards with three victories.

The pop star walked away from the glitzy ceremony in Newark, New Jersey with three trophies, including the coveted Video of the Year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),” making her the first artist to win the award three times and the first to win for a video they directed themselves.

She also won awards for Best Longform Video and Best Direction for the short film starring Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things.”

She told the audience at the Prudential Center as she accepted the award for Best Direction, “I am so honored to have been recognized alongside such incredible artists and directors in this category, and I am so encouraged by the fact that, for the first time in VMA history, four of the nominees in this video of the year category are women.Taylor Swift sweeps the MTV VMAs with three victories

Swift added, “You guys, I’m just so proud of what we created, and I know that every second of this moment we would not have been able to create this short film without you, the fans.

In addition, she used her platform to announce the October release of a new album titled “Midnights.”

She stated of the new album, “I had decided that if you were going to be so kind and offer us this, it would be a good time to announce that it will be released on October 21. And I will share more with you at midnight.”

It was also a successful night for Lizzo, who won the Video for Good award for “About Damn Time,” and for Harry Styles, who won Album of the Year for “Harry’s House” and Cinematography and Best Pop for “As Is.”

Best Alternative was awarded to Maneskin for “I Wanna Be Your Slave,” while Song of the Year was awarded to Billie Eilish for “Happier Than Ever.”

BTS defeated rival K-pop group Blackpink to win Best Group, while Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow won multiple accolades for their duet “Industry Baby,” including Best Collaboration, Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects.
