In a horrific racial assault at a railway station, a thug holding a taser called a police officer a “filthy, stinking, white dog.” He was sentenced to five years in prison.
On April 20, 2019, while being detained at Wolverhampton Train Station, Matthew Haylett called a female officer a “blood-clot homosexual.”
The court heard that the 44-year-old, who was also carrying cannabis, had threatened other males with a Taser disguised as a torch, stating, “I’m going to hack you up.”
Haylett, a resident of Birmingham, was found guilty of having a concealed handgun, Class B narcotics, and a racially aggravated public order offense.
He was sentenced to five years in prison at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Two cops examined Haylett’s pockets and located a flashlight with the words “police” on one side and “80,000w” on the other.
It was eventually determined to be a very effective stun gun disguised as a torch.
A little black plastic bag carrying four grams of cannabis was also discovered.
Haylett was detained, but while being transported to the police station, he verbally assaulted the cops.
Haylett said that he discovered the Taser on a bus.
British Transport Police Detective Inspector Shani Plumb said, “How this gadget got to be in Haylett’s hands remains a mystery.”
‘However, there is no doubt as to how terrible his actions were on that day.
No emergency worker should be exposed to a barrage of insults for doing their duties.
I am thankful to the train employee who reported Haylett to our police; his effort resulted in the seizure of a hazardous equipment and the arrest of a violent criminal.
“Anyone who observes suspicious conduct on a train must always report it to us.
As this case demonstrates, we will always take measures to ensure that the train network in the United Kingdom remains a safe environment for passengers.
