Sydney neighbour writes ‘passive aggressive’ note on vehicle

After seeing a driver’s automobile with “cloudy headlights,” a neighbour sent the driver a “passive hostile” note.

In Sydney’s inner city, Redfern, a typed-out letter was placed on the windshield of a blue Toyota on Thursday morning.

It said, “Dear Neighbour, I also had foggy headlights.”

I didn’t realise how limited my eyesight had been when driving until I had them corrected.

“Having my headlights fixed made driving safer for myself, my family, and other drivers,” the driver said.

The note’s author then advised the Toyota’s owner to take their vehicle to a technician and get their headlights fixed for $200.

The strange message was discovered by a neighbourhood resident who was heading to work.

He told Daily Mail Australia, “I was amazed that someone could be so passive hostile and attack their neighbours in this way.”

Some individuals should simply keep to themselves and prioritise their own lives rather than interfering in other people’s affairs.

Over time, headlights may fog up or become yellow, reducing driver and other road users’ sight.

Although there are ways for drivers to clean their own lights, it is advised that they take their cars to a professional.

If the high beam lights cannot illuminate a certain area, a mechanic may declare the vehicle undriveable.

While there isn’t a particular fee for having cloudy headlights, drivers who violate NSW headlight guidelines may be subject to a $116 fine.
