Stephen A. Smith suggested Colin Kaepernick replace Dak Prescott

The fractured thumb of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is anticipated to sideline him for six to eight weeks.
Stephen A. Smith of ESPN believes that the team should turn to Colin Kaepernick.

Smith stated, “He hasn’t been around long, but he’s a playmaker.”
Stephen A. Smith of ESPN stated that the Dallas Cowboys should consider Colin Kaepernick to replace Dak Prescott, who fractured his thumb on Sunday night.

“It will never happen, in my opinion,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take on Monday. “But Dallas might want to give Colin Kaepernick a call.”

Since opting out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers to become a free agent in 2017, Kaepernick has not played in the NFL.

Smith continued, “He has not been seen recently, but he is a playmaker with his legs who is available.” “You have to take that into account.”

Last season, Prescott passed for 37 touchdowns for the Cowboys. He is anticipated to miss six to eight weeks due to his injury.

Despite Smith’s belief that Kaepernick would be a suitable replacement for Prescott, he does not believe the Cowboys will make the switch.

Kaepernick is a well-known civil rights activist who kneeled during the national anthem before to 2016 NFL games in protest of police brutality and racial inequity.

Smith stated, “This is in Texas, in the state of Texas.” “Since the entire Kaepernick scenario got hijacked, they have become the patriotic, self-respecting individuals that they are proud of being.

“Jerry Jones will not allow anything to interfere with business, but I would consider it. I would concur.”

Michael Irvin, co-host of Smith’s First Take, disputed the concept that the Cowboys signing Kaepernick is a good idea.

“Let’s stop talking about Colin Kaepernick. Let’s put an end to this,” he continued. “Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played football in what, five years?

“Come on, man. Let’s quit imagining that we can suddenly resurrect Colin Kaepernick and that he can then resurrect a football club.”

Sunday, the Cowboys were defeated 3-19 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
